Individuals facing emotional trauma

Life can sometimes throw challenges that may be from the past, e.g. childhood, or as a result of life changing events such as loss of a loved one, illness, divorce, bullying, abuse, job loss, financial trauma or sudden career change

Reset therapy can help you positively address the traumatic impact in a supportive environment and find your way through to a much-improved situation where you can experience clarity of thought, increase sense of control, and peace of mind, and focus on the future

Perfectionism can impose its own challenges and can lead to a life of constant pressure and unhappiness, with consequential feelings of inadequacy. People hold themselves to impossibly high standards with unrealistic goals that they can never achieve, and they may hold unrealistic expectations of others. This may result in highly controlling behaviour, anxiety, self-harming, depression, OCD, eating disorders, Imposter Syndrome or the inability to relax, living in a constant state of high alert

Perfectionism is often a learned behaviour and can start in childhood as a result of highly controlling parents or academic environments. Individuals may have a strong need for acceptance with critical self-evaluation and a high concern for the opinions of others. When external circumstances impose conditions on people where they feel unable to deliver against the expectations of themselves or others the pressure can be overwhelming, affecting behaviour and inability to cope

Imposter Syndrome

This psychological phenomenon, known as imposter syndrome, reflects a belief that you’re inadequate and an incompetent failure, despite evidence that indicates you’re skilled and quite successful.  It can take various forms, depending on a person’s background, personality, and circumstances. It starts with recognising it in yourself and others. Imposter syndrome can be defined as a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success.  ‘Imposters’ suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence. They seem unable to internalise their accomplishments; however successful they are in their field

High achieving, highly successful people often suffer, so imposter syndrome doesn’t equate with low self-esteem or a lack of self-confidence. In fact, some researchers have linked it with perfectionism, especially in women and among academics

Professional athletes and sports people

For professional and amateur athletes who have experienced physical injury or mental challenge and are struggling to return to form and peak performance

Mental health and athletic performance - Several disappointments, losing a race or an accident in sport can lead to mental blocks, physical disruptions or create traumatic impact. Despite the athlete's best efforts, athletes cannot find their form or groove, sometimes resulting in anxiety, depression or loss of confidence, and in some cases inability to return to the sporting arena. End of career transition- Elite athletes dedicate their lives to their sport, often sacrificing personal relationships and many other things to pursue their dreams, immersing themselves in intense training, competition and glory

When it comes to an end, either through severe injury or retirement, this is a significant readjustment that induces dramatic changes with a sudden ceasing of intense demand. The transition can be a traumatic and distressing experience for many; they can feel a loss of identity or dread, and it can affect individual's emotions, behaviours and cognition as they adapt to 'regular' life and consider other avenues

Adaptation techniques - Reprogramming the brain through Reset therapy can reprocess the traumatic story enabling the athlete to resume training and restore healthy brain function

We work with professional and amateur sportsmen and women across multiple sports. As with any client, we identify the cause and understand the impact and how it shows up, then develop a reset treatment plan. We develop a unique support programme and care bundle focussed on self-help strategies to bring the athlete back to stability and healthy brain function

Celebrities and senior leaders

The constant pressure to perform and always do better, sometimes while facing criticism from others, can be intense. If they make a mistake, it may be widely exposed, and others may be quick to pick up on it, resulting in increased pressure that can create self-doubt and overwhelming negative feelings. Lack of privacy, lack of security and always being ‘on show’ can also be a strain

We work confidentially with celebrities and senior leaders to support the wellbeing of themselves and their families to build emotional resilience and, importantly, a stable platform where they can remain robust despite social media criticism and hostility

For celebrities, we offer care and resilience support to cope with media and invasion of personal privacy and the potentially traumatic impact this can have on mental wellbeing and the ability to perform, through building a neurological shield and effective strategies

Relationship reset

We work with couples, families, at work or other important relationship challenges and facing a potential breakdown who seek support to repair and rebuild their relationships, overcome barriers and reconcile differences to be able to move forwards to a better future positively

When relationships are challenged or sometimes broken the parties can inflict psychological damage and emotional scars. Emotional pressure can trigger the Fight, Flight or Freeze response and result in negative behaviours such as aggression, arguments and withdrawal, thus intensifying the situation. The quarrels or consequential situations can become traumatic memories that get filed in the brain in the wrong place and can keep resurfacing when triggered, sometimes getting in the way of trust-building and reconciliation

Our work with couples sometimes extends to families where other family members have been impacted by household arguments and negative or destructive behaviours, and are also traumatised by the situation, which can result in its own set of unique consequences and dysfunctions

This specialist work requires both parties to actively choose reconciliation and repair of the relationship for the therapy to have the right conditions to succeed. Our approach is to meet with both parties separately to assess the suitability for our reset treatment programme
People who have suffered from broken relationships may find it difficult to cope with the life changing circumstances involved or become overwhelmed with emotion that can interfere with their lives. Reset therapy can help you move through this and get back on track
Sometimes we might recommend one of our support partners or other relevant agencies depending on the unique circumstances of each case

 Resilience

Is the capacity of a system, enterprise, or person to maintain its core and integrity in the face of dramatically changed circumstances.

Bereavement

Bereavement can be an extremely challenging time for you, your family and loved ones. It can be intensified through tragic or complex circumstances or the loss of a child, and it can be a tough time for everyone

Bereavement is a natural part of the human condition. It is not easy learning to live with the loss of close relationships we have had in our life. There is a natural cycle of grief, where the brain moves through several stages to reach acceptance of the loss.
However, under traumatic circumstances or when people are in a heightened state of fear or shock, this process can be interrupted, resulting in the memories not being fully processed. People can become stuck, which can sometimes result in depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotional distress or PTSD symptoms

Grief can sometimes lead to traumatic impact, and Reset therapy can be of enormous benefit, enabling processing of the traumatic memory and making it easier to deal with, improving functioning and acceptance. Everyone's journey is unique and different

Bankruptcy or fear of a financial set back

Bankruptcy or financial catastrophe is an extremely challenging set of circumstances that can create traumatic impact for those involved for years to come. There can be a knock-on effect of social embarrassment, loss of credibility, loss of social standing, rejection by friends and family and also by financial institutions, reduced creditworthiness, which can result in a feeling of hopelessness

The experience for those involved is unique and responses vary. However, some can experience depression, anxiety and increased risk of suicide, while others may bounce back and rebuild their lives with the mental resilience to cope

Fear of loss is a massive driver in activating the fight, flight, freeze response and this can result in poor decision making, aggression, depression, hiding from reality, blaming others and a victim mindset.  For some people, there is a considerable benefit in confronting reality, and with the support to enable them to stabilise their emotions they can recover psychologically, rebuilding their self-confidence and self-esteem so they can begin again

Testimonial British Army

I met Jonathan at a talk he gave at my local chiropractor on PTSD, anxiety and mental well being. After the talk, I was fascinated to explore with him if he could help in my situation, which was caused by a traumatic experience when I was in the army. Jonathan agreed to meet with me, and I went through the reset process. It was like someone pressing a reset switch in my mind. After the treatment, I am feeling so much better, clearer with a peace of mind I have not experienced for many years. I felt listened to and cared for. He follows up on What’s App in between sessions to see how your doing and sends resources directly to your phone. It’s literally put me on my feet again, resolving my past issues so I can move forward. What I liked was that the approach is not Talk therapy based, but works by reprocessing negative memories. Highly Recommend MindCoach to anyone suffering emotional trauma Richard

NHS and Frontline Workers

With the global pandemic of COVID -19 taking its grip across the globe, our frontline workers are there for every one of us, taking risks to save others. The impact of what Doctors, Nurses and their colleagues are witnessing can be like a battle zone, especially in ICU, where it can be difficult to save people suffering from this novel virus. These people also have families who will also feel the impact of stress and extended shift patterns, where their vocational calling drives them to safe lives and do what they can to make a difference. Most frontline workers experiencing trauma will return to normal given a little time; however, some people have stress reactions that don’t go away on their own or may even get worse over time. These individuals may develop PTSD. The psychological impact for some of these people is high and traumatic impact invertible for some who will find the processing of the memories and situations disturbing

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we also recognise all workers on the frontline that play a vital role in keeping Britain moving e.g. food distribution and retail, blue light services and any essential worker experiencing traumatic impact through the crisis. We are here to help all frontline workers and their families suffering from emotional trauma and PTSD and get you back on your feet through our Reset process and support programme

We currently offer discounted rates for frontline personnel who need help and support with a team of dedicated professionals committed to facilitating the recovery of key workers, and help them get back on their feet and effectively manage and treat their trauma symptoms
